Gold Cross of America's "Pennies from Heaven" Project to: "Help the Homeless with Hope"... our mission to help homeless people get back on their feet, by providing Shelter, Educational Materials, Job Training,  Advanced Computer Skills, and Retail experience.  We suggest that you save up your pennies in a jar all year long and then donate the amount of pennies that you have saved.

We have been there before! We know what it feels like to feel down and we have compassion for the homeless.Mr. Robert Herko, the V.P. of Gold Cross of America has once slept on concrete sidewalks for two years. Dr.Tom Walters the Founder and C.E.O. of Gold Cross of America knows what it is like to lose a home to foreclosure. That is the very reason he founded Gold Cross of America/International, Inc. our motto is:

"Preventing the American Nightmare by Saving the American Dream"

The Facts:

11 Million foreclosures since 2008 has caused a homeless epidemic in the  United States. One out of 30 children or 2.5 million children in United States of America will be homeless each year. There are an estimated 57,849 homeless veterans  in the United States, or 12 percent of all homeless adults. Just under 8 percent of homeless U.S. veterans are female. Texas, California and Florida have the highest numbers of unaccompanied homeless youth under the age of 18, comprising 58% of the total homeless under 18 youth population. Homelessness affects men more than women. At least 70% to 85% of all homeless are men.

Because of turnover in the population of people that are homeless, the total number of people who experience homelessness for at least a few nights during the course of a year is thought to be considerably higher than point-in-time counts. A 2000 study estimated the number of such people to be around 3.5 million. According to Amnesty International USA, vacant houses outnumber homeless people by five times!!! A December 2017 investigation by Philip Alston, the U.N. Special Reporter on extreme poverty and human rights, found that homeless persons have effectively been criminalized throughout many cities in the United States.

"I met Tom Walters 8 years ago when he helped me, a complete stranger to him, survive a financial crisis which was not of my own making. I was  evicted from my home, and had no place to go. Tom Walters provided a place for me to stay, as I was living at a homeless shelter with $20.00 to my name. We have been close friends ever since. Tom has very good business acumen that is not utilized at the expense of loss to other people. He is a classic example of a true Christian man."

J. Miller, Orlando, FL

"I have known Pastor Tom Walters professionally since 2009 and have interviewed him numerous times on 102 JAMZ C.B.S. Radio program. Tom Walters became a friend of the program and a friend of mine. He and Gold Cross have diligently worked with the community here in Orlando and surrounding areas to save homes from foreclosure. Tom relates well with everyone and has helped me personally with my own personal situation. Pastor Tom continues to be a tremendous asset to our community and I recommend him highly as a minister of hope, generosity and a life saver to the community and to myself personally."

Ronda Jordan, Orlando, FL
